I do not like the damp.
I want to travel waterproof,
a leathery-leaved plant.
Living would breathe better
safe under anemic skies.
I wander in the wet,
unbrilliant. Canals swell
and reflect surrounding color,
self-satisfied, zaftig women
stretching. Shy rain washes
away my own musk.

Rasile quite ironically discovered her affinity for the written
word while studying business at the University of Texas. After graduating,
she settled in Boston and is now pursuing a career in publishing at
Houghton Mifflin.
Refinishing old furniture and trying
new recipes with spinach are two of her favorite hobbies.
