"My style explores the relationship between man-made structures and the natural world; the idea of recognizable shapes and structures living within irrational thoughts and emotions. The first layers are very spontaneous and what I consider to be the organic phase. I continue this process until a dialogue is created with the work. I nurture characters that emerge, and the composition starts to reveal itself, which is the man-made aspect of the progression because I am creating something out of the organic matter. The process involves many breaking points, and I need to see the work with fresh eyes to determine if it's complete or where to go next. My color palette is very instinctive and is usually the focal point of interest to the viewer. Whatever the spectator interprets my work [as being] is what it becomes. [Each] title [is] derived spontaneously and meant to give the painting an identity. It's up to the viewer to make [a title] meaningful or not."
