Profligate

Someone I won't name has been profligate
Not only in wild-eyed creativeness
— Everything's teeming: lawns with grass and grass
With ants and so forth, all they do is teem —
But in the maintenance of entities,
In all the power used up every minute
Mostly on errands to the DMV.

There you stand, sure this line will never move
Processing growing soreness in your feet
And “one more item” from Panda Express,
Sighing and belching, shuffling forward in line.
To be liberal is to be unjust.
Capitaine L’Herbe, one of Napoleon's guard,
Cried out for one more hour, but it’s been spent
On your view of an old drunk-driving ad.
