Barry Seiler

Who doesn’t have sympathy for the door

Forever separating the out from the in,

The here from the wherever?

Like a referee in a boxing match.

The door dreams it is a table

Filled with dishes

Piled high and emptied.

Piled high and emptied.

Laden, the door sighs

As it closes.
